Home features: Whole house fans!

I recently listed a home where the owner was very proud of the fact that every home in his home had a fan with a remote......this had me intrigued. I have fans in my home, but only in a few rooms.

Fans circulate air in the home, driving the hot air out and pulling cooler air in. Using fans can cool the home and help lower electric bills and those remotes come in handy when you're languishing on a couch! I grew up in a hot climate in a home with no central AC...or no AC of any sort! Fans were an absolute must in every room and were life savers during the hot summers.

The fan blades do need regular cleaning as the edges of the blades tend to gather dust over time. If you do decide to have fans in your home make sure they are properly installed and don't wobble when on.
